As well as it’s beautiful Victorian Pier, Swanage has a short stone version puncturing the smooth, flowing curve of the sandy beach. It obviously plays second fiddle to it’s more glamorous counterpart as I could find nothing about it; if anyone can enlighten me, please do!Square format, mono image of the Swanage stone pier and benches

Although a simple subject, this proved an interesting exercise in composition; the staggered benches making perfect symmetry impossible – one bench looked lost, two were imbalanced but three seems to work … the engineer in me likes things to be neatly arranged and this was the best compromise 🙂
